Hampton Junior School is an exceptionally busy environment in which pupils and families enjoy a variety of events, activities and celebrations. Below are some of the recent events which the children have enjoyed.
LONDON MINI MARATHON
A few HJS students had the brilliant opportunity to take part in the mini marathon in London. This consisted of a 2.6km route starting at the Horse Guard Parade and finishing at Buckingham Palace. Well done to all students for representing the school at such a special occasion.
SEVEN SUPER SWIMMERS
Seven super swimmers represented HJS at the Borough Swimming gala finals. They all swam superbly and three got through to the 'Elite Finals'. Jakob Holder got a silver medal in the year 6 boys' freestlye. Lily-Rose Tiller was placed 4th in the year 3 girls' freestlye and Poppy Holder 5th in the year 4 girls' freestyle.
The rest of the team cosisted of Mia Chandler, Isla Hiscott, Maisy Story and Sam Walker.
FRIENDS OF HJS ADULT QUIZ
Thank you to everyone who came to the Quiz Night on Friday. There were some really tricky questions and some fun with blowing up balloons! The winners were ‘Happy Feet’. Once the money has been counted we will let you know how much money we raised. Thank you so much to Helen and Ross for organising the whole event and to Courtenay, Ray,Kiera and Chloe for scoring and running the bar.It was a truly great Burns Night!

Well done to HAMPTON our winners. The scores were finalised by adding the lower schools marks to the upper schools marks. In total each house had 120 questions to answer within 3 minutes.

INDOOR ATHLETICS
A squad of 19 athletes competed at the annual borough indoor athletics competition last term.Both the girls and boys produced some brilliant solo and team performances winning some relay heats.
Thank you to Mrs Fraser and Mr Reed for their help on the day and a big thank you to Mr Brain and Miss Taylor for all their support and training.
YEAR 6 ARCHITECTURE WORKSHOP
Year 6 were very fortunate to take part in a DT activity linked to Maths whereby they designed and created a 3D Roller-coaster using rods and elastic bands. We used a selection of tetrahedrons of different sizes to create the final structure and the children had to use their knowledge of edges, verticies and faces to create these 3D shapes. Well done Year 6- it was most certainly a team effort!

HPP MUSICAL EVENING
The HPP musical evening at All Saints Church in Hampton was a wonderful showcase for the talented children of HPP. The audience enjoyed the Hampton Primary Partnership choir, orchestra and ensemble groups
HJS CHOIR
The HJS choir delighted the shoppers in John Lewis Kingston with a selection of seasonal favourites. This is always a wonderful event and we were delighted to have been invited to perform once again.
YEAR 3 EGYPTIAN DAY
Year 3 children enjoyed their Egyptian day and they certainly dressed to impress. As well as themed activities they enjoyed food tasting as part of the day.
