Admission into Nursery September 2025
For Nursery September 2025 entry (children with dates of birth between 1/9/2021 & 31/8/2022), the application closing date was Friday 7th March 2025 with places being offered on or before Friday 2nd May 2025. If you would like to submit a late application for consideration please email admissions.hisn@hpp.school
The Nursery has a total of 36 places - 10 in the morning, 10 in the afternoon and 16 full day. Children must have turned 3 by 31st August 2025 for admission in September 2025 - see Nursery Admissions Policy.
There is no specific catchment area for Nursery and if there are more applications than there are places available, places will be offered in the following order of priority:
- Places will be offered firstly to ‘looked after’ children. Applications made under this criterion must be accompanied by details of circumstance and professionally supported evidence (e.g. from a social worker).
- Places will then be offered in cases of exceptional family, social or medical need (which must be described on the application and verified by professionally supported evidence) that makes the school concerned the most suitable one for the individual child.
- Places will then be offered next to children who have a brother or sister (sibling), including an adopted, foster, half or step brother or sister, living at the same address and attending Reception to Year 6 at the same school (or paired junior school) at the point of application and admission.
- Places will then be offered to children of members of staff who have been employed at the school for two or more years at the time of application and will continue to be employed at the school at the point of admission or where the member of staff is recruited to fill a vacant post for which there is a demonstrable skill shortage.
- The remaining places will be offered to children who live nearest to the school, measured by the shortest route by road or maintained footpath from the property to the nearest pedestrian school gate used by the relevant year group. Accessibility of private or public transport will not be considered. All distances will be measured using the Council’s geographical information system. Note: paths through car parks, cemeteries, golf courses and other enclosed spaces will not be used.
Please see the Parent Guide below as this will give information regarding applying for Nursery including important dates when these are available.
