Friends of Hampton Junior School (FoHJS) is a charity which helps raise money for Hampton Junior School. As a parent of a child at this school, you are invited to become a member of the Friends of Hampton Junior School. As a group, we aim to raise funds to supplement the teaching and learning within the school, enhancing our own children’s enjoyment of their education, whilst also getting to know other parents in a relaxed, social environment.
Over the past few years, funds raised by “The Friends” have been used to purchase playground equipment, iPads, sports equipment and kits as well as helping to develop the eco-garden and refurbish both the Studio and library. We have bought a defibrillator and some new pop up tents for Sports Day and other school events. We’ve also funded author visits to school, pantomimes and lots of other projects that help to make the school engaging, inspirational and a great place for the children to enjoy. Over the past year our fundraising goal has been to raise enough money to completely refurbish the Food Technology room, and we’re delighted to say that we’ve achieved our goal and has been used throughout the year for your child to enjoy cooking. We then funded the restructure of the playground and we now raising money for the second phase – the quiet sensory area and also we plan to re-stock the library with some new books.
Fundraising events are core to what we do. We hold regular cake sales for each year group, the proceeds of which go directly to that year group to spend on resources. We run events specifically for the children, such as two themed discos and two sponsored events down our field, a popular Quiz and three theatre trips to West End shows. We also hold the joint HPP events - the Fireworks Night and the Summer BBQ.
Our committee is always looking for new members so please contact the Chair if you can help or volunteer at one of the many events.
